This Veterans Day, we honor those who have served and proudly recognize Grant Larimer, a U.S. Army Veteran who served our nation for eight years and has been supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs for over 13 years.
Today, Grant continues to support the VA mission at Initiate Government Solutions (IGS), through his work on the VA Informatics and Computing Infrastructure (VINCI) project. VINCI is the largest clinical data warehouse in the government, with a mission to develop high-quality national veteran health data and to provide the computational resources needed to analyze and model large datasets. VINCI is a collaborative effort between the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Research and Development (ORD) and VA’s Office of Information and Technology (OIT). VINCI houses over 7.4 million veterans’ patient records and provides authorized researchers with access to large datasets for their research, aiming to improve the health and lives of veterans.
Grant plays a vital role in supporting the Data Access Request Tracker (DART) application, an online tool used by National Data Systems (NDS) and others to provide data access approvals for preparatory research activities and IRB/R&D Approved Research.
We are proud to have Grant on our team and grateful for his continued dedication, serving Veterans and advancing technology that benefits Veterans every day.
