IGS Celebrates Veterans Day

Clayton Henry

 

Clayton joined IGS in 2017 and is currently working on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Data Migration Services project as a Senior Developer.  Clayton spent 8 years of military service in the Army and was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.  After training, Clayton was a Combat Medic and Respiratory Therapist.  When asked how his military experience affects his life today, Clayton said, “It makes me proud that I served.  In the position that I am currently in, I am doing work to serve those who served (including myself).  So needless to say, I am passionate about the work I do and I do it with honor and integrity.”  During his service, Clayton was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.  Thank you for your service, Clayton—and we are proud to have you as a member of our company and team!

 

Clay Newby

Clay joined IGS in 2012 and is currently working on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VA Informatics and Computing Infrastructure (VINCI) Sustainment, Data Management, and System Administration Services project as a Windows Systems Engineer/Dev Ops. ​  Clay spent 10 years of military service in the Army National Guard/Reserves with 4 of those years active duty in homeland defense and rescue operations.  He spent the majority of his time in service within the U.S., responding to natural disasters and other emergencies.  After training, Clay’s primary jobs included: Automated Logistics, Avionics and Ground Vehicle Supply, Ground Vehicle Maintenance, and Military Police.  When asked how his military experience affects his life today,  Clay said, “My military experience is exhibited most notably in attention to detail, critical thinking and follow through for tasks.  I strive to operate effectively.  I am always looking for ways to improve routine processes and to improve automation and processes which I have already implemented.”  Clay, we thank you for your service and proud to have you as a member of our team and company!

 

Martin Graham

Martin joined IGS in 2018 and is currently working on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Genomic Information System for Integrated Science (GenISIS) project as a Systems Administrator.  Martin spent 3 years of military service in the Army and spent the majority of his time in service in Soegel, Germany (Northern Germany) as a member of NATO under the 552nd US Army Artillery Group as part of the 162 Ordinance Company.   Their unit crest was “Mission and Teamwork” and his military occupational specialty (MOS) was 55G20, which is a Nuclear Weapons Maintenance Specialist.  When asked how his military experience affects his life today, Martin said, “My time in the service taught me to be honest and forthright with everything I do.  It also gave me a great appreciation of ‘Team Work’ and a keen and dogged direction of completing all ‘Missions’.”  Martin, we thank you for your service and proud to have you as a member of our team and company!

 

Walter Grant

Walter joined IGS in 2019 and is currently working on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) project as a Technical Analyst.  Walt spent 8 years of military service in the Air Force and was stationed in various places, never staying in one place too long, including: Guam, Thailand, California, Colorado, New York, Louisiana, and was given several temporary duty assignments in Southeast Asia.  After training, Walt’s primary job was a Defensive Fire Control Technician, where he maintained the tail gunnery system on B-52s. When asked how his military experience affects his life today,  Walt said, “I think my discipline and attention to detail are rooted in my experience in the military.  I was proud to serve—no medals or citations, as I was not in combat and I carried a tool bag instead of a rifle.” Walter, we thank you for your service and proud to have you as a member of our team and company!
